Dignitas and suicide clinics

Author: Ian 07/17/2009

Suicide clinics, good or bad? I’m really caught between the fact that people in the world suffer that much and should have the right to end it if they really want but on the other hand there is a very close line between assisted suicide and man slaughter. If you were in pure agony would you really give up on living to stop the pain or would you hope for a cure and live on the strongest pain killers which give you no life at all and don’t actually stop the excruciating pain certain diseases make you feel. Whats your opinion?

Swine Flu

Author: Ian 07/16/2009

What sort of medical blog would this be if I didn’t mention the world epidemic of swine flu. Its everywhere, one of the lads in the office has been banned form the office as his girlfriend has been diagnosed and even worse my cleaner has been given a dose of the swine flu but luckily in her case she has Tami-flu nice and early.

Who the hell is going to do my cleaning, err I men get well soon. I suppose I have always got my girlfriend as I really cannot be bothered.

Do you know some one with swine flu?

Period pains

Author: Ian 07/15/2009

As a man growing up in a mixed school you often came across the crazy world of menstruation and period pains, whilst growing up you think this is a myth, or girls simply attention seeking and has got to be the best reason to either get time off or crave attention. When you get a little bit older exactly the same happens and many people all over the world use the taboo subject to get extra days off or receive unnecessary sympathy from friends or colleagues. The only time I ever give this recognition is if my partner is doubled over as I’m sure that if they are not they can rectify this will pain killers? Whats your opinion?

Rhinitis

Author: Ian 07/14/2009

Rhinitis is a condition that is hereditary and affects the the nose and throat, making you have a runny itchy nose and sneeze hundreds of times a day, I know this as the gentleman sat in front of me has it and sneezes around 120 times a day, you can get sprays to subside the runny itchy nose but realistically you need an operation to sort the nasal cavity out and then breath for ever easy after that.

The funny thing is this guy wont even get the nasal spray and sits there all day blowing his nose and sniffing, I think if it was me that would drive me mad and I would be moaning to the doctor on a weekly basis.

What about you?

Hair loss

Author: admin 07/13/2009

One or two individuals in the office have not just started but have been suffering from the dreaded scenario of hair loss and there age is nothing to do with it as they are twenty one and twenty seven respectively. They are taking the sensible option of shaving it all off or sort of combing it straight up not over. One of my drinking pals years ago went away for the weekend and when he came back he had had hair implants, in which the barber saves any hair that he cuts off you and then scientist replant this back into the scalp making it grow again, the treatment was amazing and he has a full head of hair now but at five thousand pounds, is it really worth it?

Dead legs

Author: Ian 07/12/2009

Yesterday I played football strangely enough for the police force as I have a friend who is a police man and they were short of one or two good players, so he drafted me in for the day, we played at least 6 matches and got knocked out in the quarter finals, half way through the tournament I got clattered on my thigh and my leg went numb but adrenaline and football got me through the pain, the problem is today I have woken with a dead leg which makes me feel like my thigh bone has snapped and I have got to go and play football again today for 2 hours but I’m hoping the adrenaline will take me through it again.

I want Breast enlargement

Author: Ian 07/09/2009

I want breast enlargement is typed into google thousands of times a month.

This is such a taboo subject for men and women but one in ten women that you will date or meet under the age of forty years old will have had some sort of cosmetic surgery in the life and fifty percent of these will be breast enlargement or the alternative name breast augmentation. It has become almost a normality in today’s glamour magazines and almost the UK’s under forties population.

Have you tried this your self as lots of people have gone abroad to get a cheap deal, even with flight and accommodation it works out cheaper but lots of them have come back with horror stories. Share yours with us!!

citalopram and is it addictive?

Author: Ian 07/08/2009

I have lived with lots of different types of people including college house mates and girlfriends, but about ten years ago I lived with a bloke who turned out to be a bit of a manic depressive, it was a shame really as when we went out drinking he was always a hit with the ladies opening doors etc. He was a nightmare though when he didn’t have his tablets called citalopram which a control or tablet which stops you feeling depressed.

The nightmare behind this tablet which I tried to help him get off, is, its almost addictive, as when you stop taking it you become depressed, angry, sick and almost a drug addict like affect, i.e. going cold turkey, which makes you need to keep taking it. He after 10 years still takes it and pays a prescription charge every month which surely should be free as its a drug he will have to take every year of his life!!

Do you take this annoying drug?

Hayfever

Author: Ian 07/06/2009

With summer now fully here in the UK I’m seeing everyone walk around sneezing there head off, I have never had hay fever before but after 30 years of being hay fever free I have contracted the most pointless allergy in the world. Every day I wake up with itchy eyes and a streaming nose, why, and why after 30 years has this just appeared either way I have to take a antihistamine which is just another bit of medication I’m not sure about or whether constantly taking a drug that messes with my receptacles can be that safe for long term consumption, what else is there? Do you have any ideas? I heard there are sexual remedies I might want to try these? Or tattoos?

I recently found that if you get ill at the weekends you will struggle to get hold of your resident doctor even if they are on call. A few weeks ago my girlfriend went on holiday to Ibiza, the quiet side and one day whilst swimming she caught her leg on a Jelly fish, this made her panic at first but luckily the local restaurant was used to this and had some cream to take the pain away. The problem with Jelly fish stings, is the sting seeps into the body and makes the pain worse about a week or two down the line. You can put vinegar on it when it first happens to take the sting out but then you need to scrape the residue off afterwards.  If this doesn’t happen you will getting a scar like swelling and you will need pain killers to help, but as explained to me its like having tooth ache in your sting and it wont go away for weeks, we asked the emergency medical advice line for help and they didn’t have enough knowledge so we got a call from her elusive doctor eventually and he advised simple antihistamines but they failed. The only thing which worked which we found out by accident is salt water as she went to Abersoch 2 weeks later and swam again (I know brave girl) but it cooled it and stopped it hurting.
