First port of call

Author: Ian 08/31/2009

In the event of a potential health emergency most of us would consider going to accident and emergency (A&E) at our nearest hospital. But that’s just the point. A&E is for just that.

If your not bleeding to death and your demise is not imminent what should you do? Well the National Health Service (NHS) have put our hard earned tax pounds to good use and have set up the service NHS Direct. You can speak to a health professional who will access your condition and advice you on what to do next with regards to treatment, if at all is necessary.

Their number is 0845 46 47. You may also find useful information on their website: http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

Body types.

There are many different body types and these days most are out of shape. But underneath all the body excess and clothing our bodies all fit into one of three categories.

The three main types:

ectomorphs – slight build
mesomorphs – muscular
endomorphs – excess bodyweight

The basic body type you may be is greatly outside of our control and much more due to your DNA and our childhood lifestyles than anything else. We are pretty much how we are however we can fine tune ourselves and make adjustments.
To make any changes to your body shape the basic groundwork is the same.
Watch what you eat and choose fresh, low fat and healthy foods
Avoid consuming large amounts of toxins such as alcohol and caffeine
Undertake regular exercise which should include elements of cardio, strength training and flexibility.
